Take Control Of Your Recycle Bin Your Recycle Bin can take up to 10 percent of your hard drive, it can have files so old that they were there when you purchased your computer. This is a lot of space for stuff you have already asked to be deleted. Open the Recycle Bin, Click the Tab Named "Date Deleted": this will show you how long ago a file was deleted, oldest on the top. Click the Tab Named "Size": this will show you the size of the file: smallest first. Click the Tab Named "Name": this will show you the name alphabetically. Click the Tab Named "Type" (My Personal Favorite) this will show you the type in alphabetical order Any Shortcuts can be deleted without any worry of having to make them again. 0-byte *.txt files or any other file you know it is not needed that is 0-byte can be deleted. As for other files, use discretion. From the Recycle Bin on your desktop (or in C:/): right click it. Click "Properties": the sliding bar with a percent under it controls how much of your drive space it can occupy. This simple equation will give you how much space in megabytes its using: HD Size / 100 x Percent = Amount ex. 1000 / 100 x 11 = 110 Megabytes You can have the Recycle Bin Delete files as soon as they are put in and (or) Delete files without being asked if you want to. As you can see the recycle bin can be configured from in side as well as from its properties menu. MrWadlo - mrwadlo (at) mrwadlo.com http://www.mrwadlo.com/
